But why did people join this webinar?
Many people are noticing a decline in their job board traffic due to the rise of AI-powered search results. But while most job boards scramble for solutions, the real opportunity is sitting right in front of you: Google Jobs optimization.
Google for Jobs is an enhanced search feature that aggregates job listings from multiple sources, including job boards and career sites, and displays them prominently in Google Search results. This advanced search tool enables job seekers to discover relevant opportunities directly within their browser, transforming the way people find and apply for jobs online.
Google Jobs remains one of the few untapped goldmines for driving quality traffic - but only if you know how to optimize for it.
And the truth is that A LOT has changed.
Following the last four core and three spam updates in 2024, as well as the UX update, the ranking on Google Jobs and best practices have undergone significant changes. Gone are the days when you just had to put the job posting schema and Google would immediately and unconditionally send traffic to you.
We designed this session specifically for job board operators, ATS vendors, agencies with job portals and generally anyone interested in actionable techniques to ensure their listings stand out in Google's job search ecosystem.

Questions about Google Jobs we answer
We received a lot of questions about the inner workings of Google Jobs from job board owners and ATS platform operators, and we answered all of them.
Here is an overview of the most important ones:
Google for Jobs Eligibility & Schema
- Does omitting the exact address (e.g. street address) in jobLocation reduce visibility or eligibility for Google for Jobs?
- Is using just city + country instead of full address enough?
- What’s the minimum required for jobLocation to make a listing fully eligible for G4J?
- Is salary mandatory just to USA or GFJ globally?
- I would like to give employment type information to my jobs. Schema is listing a few examples, but I can not find anywhere a list of all structural types. https://schema.org/employmentType
- With the API situation you were mentioning, is there a domain-level trust factor involved? Can newer domains struggle to get traction on G4J despite valid schema implementation and API submission properly?
Job Posting Behavior & Lifecycle
- What if jobs are Evergreen, always are in hiring mode so always hiring same role. What do we do?
- What have you seen regarding posting expired jobs through the API? There is a DELETED method, no?
- When a job is expired, what is the proper HTTP error that should be returned?
- Are multiple job pages for the same job but different locations treated as duplicates?
- I want to understand how they handle location-less jobs (remote).
Traffic & SEO Optimization
- Does multiple (real) locations of a job multiply the traffic? Or is it risking the opposite?
- Interested in learning how ATS can optimize the traffic. Perhaps another webinar?
Technical Implementation
- Technical question regarding the placement of the JobPosting structured data within the HTML. Is there any impact where in the HTML, e.g. which element the data is placed?
- How vital is server-side rendering nowadays?
- Is there any way to filter the broken structured data? Currently, it’s mixed for News and Jobs in our search console.
API & Quotas
- Do you know the monthly usage quota per account?
- How can you increase your quota?
